Hello,
Please join us for the next meeting. Our own Katie Vale will be
presenting on her doctoral research. See the abstract below. Since we
haven't had time for an Ed Tech Partners roundtable in awhile we'll
allow time for one so we can get caught up on the latest. Hope to see
you there!
WHAT: Educational Technology Partners meeting (with lunch)
WHEN: Monday, June 7, 11:30 - 1:30
WHERE: Bush Room (10-105)
RSVP: by Thu, Jun. 3 to jfoster at mit.edu

A History of Early Courseware Development at MIT and Brown: Lessons
from Project Athena and Intermedia
Katie Livingston Vale will talk about her doctoral research, in which
she interviewed faculty and staff who developed courseware during the
1980s under Project Athena at MIT and the Intermedia effort at Brown.
Specifically, the research focused on how and why faculty engaging in
work with Intermedia and Project Athena undertook their projects, what
pedagogical models they employed, and what factors contributed to the
success and longevity of their courseware. It will not be as boring as
it may sound.
