Hello Sam,
The error message indicates the ECCO grid file (Z:\ECCOv4r3_grid.nc”) is missing. Please specify the correct path of the grid file ECCOv4r3_grid.nc. The tutorial ‘ECCO_v4_Example_calculations_with_scalar_quantities’ uses Release 3 fields. It is assumed that you have downloaded all relevant Release 3 files to your local disks. If not, please download them from https://ecco.jpl.nasa.gov/drive/files/Version4/Release3_alt.
Best,
Ou Wang

Subject: [EXTERNAL] [ecco-support] ECCO Version 4 Python Tutorial Question
To Whom it May Concern,
Hello, my name is Sam, currently an undergraduate university student working through the ECCOv4 Python tutorials. I’m following the tutorial ‘ECCO_v4_Example_calculations_with_scalar_quantities’, and have come across an early issue that I’m not sure how to solve.
When running line 65,
ecco_grid = ecco.load_ecco_grid_nc(grid_dir, '/ECCOv4r3_grid.nc', k_subset=[0])
I am met with:
Attention!!
ECCO netcdf grid file not found in Z:\ECCOv4r3_grid.nc
I would be grateful for any help on this matter. Thank you!
All the best,
Sam
