One tutorial actually shows how to generate a Nino 3.4 index using the ECCO v4 R3 output:

Hello – I am using ECCO v4r2, and you do not provide monthly SST for this product on the ECCO website. Is this because monthly SST for ECCO is indistinguishable from the input SST? So for computing correlations with, for example, the NINO3.4 index, I should be fine using just the input SST?
