[Dspace-general] difficulties in setting user password

Hi all, I have just installed D-Space on our server.

I am not able to add new user to the d-space:

once logged as administrator i go to
Dspace_at_my_univesity  -> administer  -> ePople -> add ePerson

i add:
 mail
name
surname

i do not check "can log in"
i do not check " Require Certificate "

The problem is how to set up the password in order to permit new user to
log-in?
No confirmation mail arrived to the specified e-mail address...
