[Dspace-general] Evaluation Document

Hi there Mariano

I would hesitate to use the document quoted as an evaluation tool :http://eduforge.org/docman/view.php/131/1062/Repository%20Evaluation%20Document.pdf for the following reasons.

1. It's very out of date - 3 years is a long time ago ....
2. It was written for a NZ repository project and most of the Universities in New Zealand, chose DSpace as a platform so that's an interesting outcome!
3. There were a number of inaccuracies, particularly about the DSpace software.
4. The consultants who wrote the report do not come from a repository manager or repository developer background.

Hello,

I'm evaluating DSpace as a possible software solution for implementing an
institutional repository for the institution I'm currently working for (
Instituto Balseiro - Bariloche, Argentina -  <http://www.ib.edu.ar/>
www.ib.edu.ar/ ). 

I would appreciate anyone out there to let me know how is your experience
with the software so far, what do you think are the pros and cons of this
solution compare with others, what are its strengths and weaknesses, or
whatever other information you think might help me deciding in favor of or
against this solution.

I will also take into consideration how soon and how much feedback I got
here as a measurement of user community support.
