[Dspace-general] PolicyArchive looking for Dspace Java Programmer

The Center for Governmental Studies (CGS) seeks an experienced Java
programmer to lead technical design, development and production of new
features for CGS' PolicyArchive website and database
(www.policyarchive.org). PolicyArchive is the nation's first free,
comprehensive online archive of public policy research powered by DSpace, a
leading java-based digital repository content management software.

CGS is looking for a team player that will work with project staff, and take
an integral role in the development and implementation of new cutting-edge
features for the PolicyArchive web site. The ideal candidate should be
creative and be able to work under aggressive deadlines. This person must
have expertise working with java-based open-source content management
systems, and be able to deploy and administer cocoon and tomcat
architectures.
 
Qualifications:

.	3 or more years of significant development experience with Java. 
.	Experience with XML programming in Java.
.	Experience working with Java build tools, such as Maven. 
.	Understanding of Java application frameworks (e.g., Spring, EJB3),
Java servlet container or application server environments (e.g., Apache
Tomcat, JBoss). 
.	Familiar working with Jakarta Lucene Search Engine.
.	Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information
Science, or related field. Additional experience may be substituted for
education

.	Ability to work independently and creatively within a collaborative,
dynamic environment. 
.	Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to
evaluate options, develop and recommend solutions. 
.	Experience evaluating new technologies and developing functional
requirements through use case analysis. 
.	Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical individuals,
including the ability to prepare project documentation to support training
and best practices.
.	Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal
skills.
.	Must work on site at CGS' West Los Angeles office.
