[Dspace-general] Subversion mirrored into DSpace?

This may be a totally funky and wild idea, but I'm wondering if anyone
has tried this yet:

Version control systems such as subversion have of course served the
needs of developers collaborating. But there is no need to restrict
the use of a version control system to merely software development of
course (anything that goes through a rapid change process by
collaborators can be stuff into version control). What about
mirroring a subversion repository into a DSpace repository (or feeding
documents in a trunk or specific branch in a subversion repository
into DSpace)? Maybe it would be as simple as writing a script to do
so. There is a neat little open source project called svk that build
on subversion and performs mirroring of repositories that could
perhaps be used.

A crazy idea?
