Hi dorm resident,

Happy (almost) Halloween! We hope y’all enjoyed 🍎 Apple Picking 🍎 a few weeks ago, and below are a few updates from your friendly neighborhood student government org. 🎃🦈

DormCon Elections
🦈 DormCon 🦈 is holding elections for some exec positions next Thursday evening! DormCon<http://dormcon.mit.edu/> is MIT’s governing and advocacy body for all dormitory residents, and if you're interested in improving dorm life, student life policies, and representing dorm residents’ interests to administration, this is a great way to get involved. DormCon exec positions are open to dorm residents and affiliates only.

The following positions are up for election:

Underclassmen Representative (1)
  *
CPW/REX Chairs (2)
  *
i3 Chair (1)

You can find position descriptions in this doc<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1WNzIOaYeZvHbLYVOUSVZaOseMhbGq85yoIEeZ0gsFVE/edit?usp=drivesdk>. We highly encourage first-years and sophomores to run for the roles and welcome any dorm residents or affiliates to join us! Outside of designated responsibilities, every member of DormCon exec provides valuable input on student life issues and policies in general.

If you’re interested in running, you can fill out this form<https://forms.gle/uJ8xJoQK6QAFWwEv6> to answer a few questions in advance. You can also just show up at our GBM in Next House at 7pm on Thursday and run!

If you are unable to make it to the meeting, you can email us the name of a proxy who will represent you. Your proxy should be able to speak to your platform and interest in the position, briefly explain your workload over the spring semester and summer, and confirm your availability for weekly Thursday night meetings.
