Hello, beloved dorm resident!
We hope you’ve been having a great first few days of the semester. We want to make sure you know all about 🦈 DormCon 🦈 and the resources we provide as your friendly neighborhood student government.
WHAT IS 🦈 DORMCON 🦈?
Dormitory Council<http://dormcon.mit.edu>, lovingly called 🦈 DormCon 🦈, is a student government that presides over the 11 undergraduate residence halls at MIT. We deal with issues pertaining to student life in dorms and we strive to elevate student concerns or ideas to administration. You’ve probably seen us in action through CPW & REX, the Murals Pilots, and funding events like Bad Ideas Weekend and DTYD!
And most importantly, DormCon is here to help you! We can assist with issues including, but not limited to:
* Questions about the housing process
* Dining feedback
* Event funding (e.g. campus-wide parties and formals, Next Haunt, Bad Ideas Weekend)
* Challenges getting your specific issues resolved with admin
* Advocacy for broader policy changes which benefit your community
You’re getting this email through dorms@, a mailing list for all dorm residents that only DormCon can use. We promise to keep this list low-traffic and focused on important updates — so please read our emails!
