Hi dorm residents,
A lot of things have been happening on campus recently, and we as DormCon
wanted to reach out to give you some updates. This email covers CPW host
sign-ups, our dining feedback form, MIT’s Quality of Life survey, and the
new Covid policy changes.
Please sign up to host for CPW!
Approximately 1,000 prefrosh are coming for CPW and they all need a place
to sleep! If you’ve got some space on your floor, please consider signing
up to host (by filling out this form <https://community.mitcpw.org/host/>).
The deadline to sign up is March 20th.
Hosting doesn’t commit you to spending any time with your prefrosh, just to
making sure that they can get into your room to sleep at night. You also
don’t need to have an air mattress – but if you want one, we are subsidizing
$15 towards an air mattress for the first 330 hosts who fill out this
Google form <https://forms.gle/2afE7RxFipz8Dq7X8>.
All prefrosh will be entered into COVIDPass, required to be vaccinated, and
will be tested on arrival. MIT Medical is fast-tracking their tests so that
you can be sure that your hostee will be negative by the time they come to
your room to sleep.
Send your dining feedback directly to head chefs
Our Dining survey is always open and feedback is sent directly to the
people who can actually make your food taste better! Drop your feedback at
bit.ly/mit-dining and fill out the form whenever you have a thought on the
food that you’d like to share.
MIT’s Quality of Life survey is running now
If you only fill out one MIT survey, this is probably the one to fill out.
Your academic department, DSL, and all of administration will be looking
hard at the results to see how they can improve. Each person’s survey link
is unique, so to find yours, search for an email in your inbox with the
subject line “2022 MIT Quality of Life Survey”. (As usual, they’re also
raffling off money to those who fill it out!)
Changing Covid policies
As you’ve all probably seen, the Covid policies on campus will be changing
this coming Monday; masking will no longer be required (except for inside
MIT Medical and on shuttles) and testing will be optional. Some quick
reminders as we enter into these new policies:
-
If you are experiencing symptoms, have just returned from travel, or
know that you were exposed to someone who tested positive, you are
strongly, strongly encouraged to test.
-
Testing will remain on-demand so that you may continue to test regularly
if you prefer.
-
MIT will continue to provide high-quality masks at test drop-off points,
and studies show that wearing one of these masks is very effective at
protecting you against infection, even when others are unmasked.
-
If you have questions about these changing policies, we encourage you to
reach out to MIT Medical at CovidQ at mit.edu.
As always, feel free to reach out to us with your dorm-related concerns on our
Piazza <http://piazza.com/mit/fall2021/dormcon> or by emailing
dormcon-exec at mit.edu.
Best wishes from Dormcon,
