Hey Dorm Residents,
DormCon* is holding elections for executive board positions next week. If
you're a dorm resident this year, and will be next year as well, you're
eligible to run for office. Show up to our elections meeting at Baker next
Wednesday, May 3rd, at 6pm to run for office, vote, or just meet the
candidates.
Serving as an executive officer of DormCon is an excellent opportunity to
develop your leadership skills while helping to address important issues
related to dorm life. For information on open positions visit:
http://web.mit.edu/dormcon/positions
We have enjoyed serving you over the past academic year, and we look forward
to welcoming a new executive board to carry DormCon through the 2006-2007
academic year.
Best,
Harvey Jones, Outgoing President
David Nedzel, Outgoing Vice President
FAQs:
1. How do I run for office? Is it hard or time consuming?
Running for office is easy. Reply to this e-mail indicating what position(s)
you're interested in running for, and then show up at our elections meeting
next Wednesday. You'll be asked to speak briefly about why you are running
for office and those present will have the opportunity to ask questions.
2. Who votes in DormCon elections?
Any dormitory resident may cast a vote at the election meeting. Dormitory
presidents will cast votes on behalf of themselves, and all of their
residents who are not present to cast a vote.
* DormCon (The Dormitory Council) is the assembly of undergraduate dormitory
