[Dev-flock] 2 users haven't been able to use our browse page

also, although firebug shows no errors, running the page through a
validator might be a good idea. though the problem is probably that IE
requires non valid javascript.
ppps - i noticed that some of the css is invalid. in firefox, use
Tools->Error Console to see these warnings. keeping the css valid will
help the page show up the same in all browsers (it seems to show up
fine in IE anyway, so not a big deal right now).
