In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: View this email in your browser DCC Tech Talk Series You are invited to DCC Tech Talks, a series of presentations led by DCC engineers introducing software development for W3C Verifiable Credential (VC) and decentralized identity technologies. Across this series, you will learn more about how credentials in higher education are created and maintained, and how to build a trusted ecosystem for your group or institution. These presentations are intended for a technical audience, those who have a background in software development and maintenance. Mark your calendars for the following dates and please register using the buttons below to join: Tech Talk #1: Verifiable Credentials Wednesday, May 13 11 AM - 12 PM ET This introductory meeting will go over Verifiable Credential (VC) basics: how they are structured, signed, and verified, as well as how they fit within the trust ecosystem of higher education. Topics will include revocation, decentralized identifiers (DIDs), and tampering. Tech Talk #2: Wallets Wednesday, May 20 11 AM - 12 PM ET Wallets within a trust ecosystem allow credential holders to maintain and share their credentials. This talk will discuss how this is facilitated for both web and mobile wallets. Topics will include credential storage management, DID management, and private keys. Tech Talk #3: Advanced Topics Wednesday, June 3 11 AM - 12 PM ET Join the DCC developers as we discuss the latest topics in the VC and decentralized identity space. Topics will include authorization capabilities (ZCAPS) and encrypted data vaults (EDVs). He also participates in hands-on development of core decentralization libraries, helps organize conferences, and contributes to open standards. James Chartrand has developed software for over thirty years, mostly in higher-ed, primarily designing and developing systems for collection, edit, analysis and publication of research data, with a focus on digital credentialing over the last five years. Alex Higuera is a Senior Software Engineer at the DCC, working on verifiable credentials for use in higher learning. Previously, she worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Cengage, building platforms for higher learning and continuing education. Active at the intersection of technology, education, and community, Alex serves on the board of two international non-profits in her free time: NeuroTechX and World Computer Exchange. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
