Next week we are going to have our very first ?CHINA WEEK? in Lobby 10 to
showcase the best of our motherland to the Western society on campus. We will
have the following exciting activities taking place:

Time: 11:30am-1pm, April 13-17, Monday to Friday
Location: Lobby 10
Contents:
1.	Beautiful posters and slide shows introducing China?s geography, history,
ethnic groups, landscapes, traditions, food, cultures, cities, etc.
2.	Free delicious Chinese desserts and food for people to try out.
3.	Gorgeous traditional costumes from different ethnic groups for visitors to
try on. And we will take pictures and email/print them out
4.	Interesting quiz with simple questions about China for people to participate
and win great prizes.
5.	Chinese skills demonstration for people to learn and enjoy, such as Chinese
Calligraphy, painting, dumpling making, paper cutting, traditional musical
instrument playing, and anything that you can think of and be good at.

We now urgently need volunteers for each day?s activities. Just contribute a
few hours or take a lunch break, and you can bring in a big difference to the
MIT community! You will meet with many new foreign friends to introduce a true
China!

Please sign up now with xjia at mit.edu with your available time, the activities
you would like to participate, and your contact information. Every volunteer
will receive a free T-shirt or a beautiful calendar with Chinese traditional
paintings. If you have any skill that you can demonstrate, you will receive $50
from CSSA.

If you are interested to work as a volunteer, please come to CSSA?s office at
W20-439 tomorrow (April 8, Wednesday) 6pm for the preparation meeting. Dinner
will be provided. Tasks are listed as the following.

Tasks:
Preparation: (April 8-April 12, your convenient time)
1. Design flyers to broadcast the China Week, and post flyers on campus.
2. Contribute contents to put on the posters, such as geography, history, ethnic
groups, tourist attractions, etc.
3. Design posters to integrate the ideas and introduce basic knowledge about
China. These posters will be printed out and exhibited in lobby 10 for the
whole week.
4. Design simple quiz questions for the audience. Answers of the quiz can be
found on the posters in Lobby 10.
5. Prepare powerpoint slide show/music to introduce basic knowledge about China
6. Decide the menu and purchase Chinese desserts and order food for people to
try during the following China week.
7. Prepare the equipments, such as poster frames, projector, audio/video,
Chinese decoration and signs.
8. Practice your skills for cultural demonstration during the following China
week, such as calligraphy, painting, paper cutting and anything that you want
to demonstrate.

On-site exhibition: (April 13-April 17, 11:00am-1pm)
9. Set up the posters and tables
10. Moderate people to take the simple quiz and deliver gifts and brochures
about China
11. Show powerpoint slides/music
12. Distribute free Chinese food
13. Demonstrate you skills: Calligraphy/painting/paper cutting/etc.
14. Get costumes ready and take picture for printing
