biography

In 2008, Yixiang Xu obtained his PhD of Engineering from the University of Cambridge. 

Born
in Shanghai, Yixiang started to learn piano and music with his father
at the age of four. Thereafter, he studied piano performance with
several pianists and musicians including Ziejie Wu from Junior
Department of Shanghai Music Conservatory (SMC), Youfei Qin, and
notably Pusheng Dai, Professor of Piano Department of SMC. Having
successfully achieved a B.A. in Engineering, Yixiang came to the UK as
a research student and continued lessons with Peter Hill, Valentina
Kalashnik, and Vivian Choi. 

During his study at Cambridge,
Yixiang has taken an active part in performing both as a soloist and
accompanist in England, and many of his performances were very well
received. Notable concerts include piano recitals in Jesus College,
Trinity College, Clare Hall and Hughes Hall.

Yixiang is  also an Associate in Piano Recital, Trinity College of Music, London UK.
