From karens at MIT.EDU Tue Oct 4 10:45:46 2005 From: karens at MIT.EDU (Karen Sachs) Date: Tue, 4 Oct 2005 10:45:46 -0400 (EDT) Subject: [CSBi-HPC] script for Matlab Message-ID: Does anyone have a shell script set up that will run Matlab code on the cluster? I am hoping for something in which I plug in the name of the main .m file and its ready to go. (I'm a big advocate of compiling the Matlab code and running executables, but unfortunately some code doesn't compile properly in AIX.) Thanks! :) From aldavis at wi.mit.edu Thu Oct 20 14:01:46 2005 From: aldavis at wi.mit.edu (Al Davis) Date: Thu, 20 Oct 2005 14:01:46 -0400 Subject: [CSBi-HPC] CSBI IBM cluster downtime next Monday morning Message-ID: <4357DB8A.3040800@wi.mit.edu> I'd like to schedule a short duration (< 1hr) downtime for the whitehead half of the CSBi IBM cluster for next Monday morning from 10-11. We need to upgrade the NetApp file server which has everyone's home directory on it and thus you won't be able to access any of your files during that time. We're working with the MIT IS&T group to use their large automatic tape systems for archival backup of the data on all the CSBi/BioMicro file storage systems. When operational, this will give us much better backup and recovery of files if they're ever deleted from the disk drives. This will only affect users who have their home directories on the Whitehead cluster and should not affect any user whose home directory is on the CSAIL cluster. If anyone has a critical job that they need to run then, let me know asap so we can reschedule? thanks, al -- Al Davis aldavis at wi.mit.edu | aldavis at mit.edu Systems Manager 617.324.0519 CSBi & WI/MIT BioImaging Center NE47 Rm 311 (500 Technology Sq) From aldavis at wi.mit.edu Mon Oct 24 10:22:33 2005 From: aldavis at wi.mit.edu (Al Davis) Date: Mon, 24 Oct 2005 10:22:33 -0400 Subject: [CSBi-HPC] CSBi IBM cluster status Message-ID: <435CEE29.7060804@wi.mit.edu> The NetApp storage filer that contains all the home directories for the Whitehead half of the CSBi IBM cluster, was successfully upgraded and the cluster is back up and running. thanks, al -- Al Davis aldavis at wi.mit.edu | aldavis at mit.edu Systems Manager 617.324.0519 CSBi & WI/MIT BioImaging Center NE47 Rm 311 (500 Technology Sq)
