Bruce and I would like to announce that Dr. Lauren Linton is the new
Executive Director for CSBi. Lauren is no stranger to MIT or to
systems biology. She was an MIT undergraduate in Chemistry, received
her PhD from Stanford and then held a number of positions in the
Cambridge area biotech scene including VP for Functional Proteomics
and Cell Biology at Applied Biosystems. From 1997-2001, Lauren was
the co-Director of the WI/MIT Center for Genome Research where she
was responsible for ramping up the Center activities as it sequenced
the genome. She has consistently demonstrated her management and
leadership skills in the academic and industrial sectors whether with
small start-ups or large companies. As CSBi Executive Director,
Lauren will be charged with increasing the range and scope of CSBi
research, education, and outreach activities at MIT as well as
developing multiple lines of funding for support of CSBi with
government, biotech and pharma. Please join us in welcoming Lauren to
the CSBi community.
