[CSBi-events] WELCOME DR. LAUREN LINTON TO CSBI

Bruce and I would like to announce that Dr. Lauren Linton is the new  
Executive Director for CSBi. Lauren is no stranger to MIT or to  
systems biology. She was an MIT undergraduate in Chemistry, received  
her PhD from Stanford and then held a number of positions in the  
Cambridge area biotech scene including VP for Functional Proteomics  
and Cell Biology at Applied Biosystems. From 1997-2001, Lauren was  
the co-Director of the WI/MIT Center for Genome Research where she  
was responsible for ramping up the Center activities as it sequenced  
the genome. She has consistently demonstrated her management and  
leadership skills in the academic and industrial sectors whether with  
small start-ups or large companies. As CSBi Executive Director,  
Lauren will be charged with increasing the range and scope of CSBi  
research, education, and outreach activities at MIT as well as  
developing multiple lines of funding for support of CSBi with  
government, biotech and pharma. Please join us in welcoming Lauren to  
the CSBi community.
