Jacobian® Workshop in Computational and Systems Biology Modeling
Applications to Signaling, Pathway and Network Modeling

January 20, 2005 1pm-5pm
January 21, 2005 9am-Noon

MIT Campus Bldg E53, Room 220
Maximum 20 Registrants

Day 1 will focus on hands-on training to build and run simulations using
Jacobian software. Examples from biological systems modeling will be used
during the tutorial.

Day 2 will focus on the procedure for parameter estimation. Examples will be
used to illustrate the steps typically involved in estimating model parameters
for complex models such as models for biological systems.

Both days will offer hands-on training using Jacobian® software in an electronic
classroom. The Workshop is open to all participants but seating is limited to
20 and prior registration is required. Please register in the CSBi office,
building 68-459, or download the registration form from the CSBi website at
http://csbi.mit.edu/events and fax it to the CSBi office at 617-324-0081.

Description of Jacobian® Software:
Jacobian® is a software product for dynamic modeling and optimization.
Jacobian® provides a complete modeling environment to build, simulate and
optimize models including sensitivity analysis and parameter estimation.
Originally developed at MIT, Jacobian® has been successfully applied in
modeling a wide rang of applications including biological systems; chemical and
polymerization reactions; engine combustion; energy generation such as fuel
processing and fuel cells; and electronic material production by plasma
etching. Jacobian® is a product of Numerica Technology, LLC. For further
information, please contact info at numericatech.com.

Instructors:
Dr. John Tolsma, Numerica Technology, LLC.
Dr. Taeshin Park, RES Group, Inc.
Dr. Paul Barton, Department of Chemical Engineering, MIT
