*Modelica for Equation-oriented Model-based Product Design*

Model-based product design requires an intuitive and effective user
interface, a standard language to encode models, high-fidelity model
libraries for reuse, standardized format for simulation deployment,
automated workflows, and large computing power. The presentation will
contain a brief introduction of the Modelica language including some
applications. New technical possibilities will be introduced, such as web
apps for intuitive and effective user interaction and easy deployment and
access, and cloud computing for large-scale simulation deployment. A
domain-specific language extension with experimental modeling capabilities
called Modia which is based on the Julia language will also be presented.
