Dear Alumni/ae of the MIT Center for Real Estate,


Words like "visionary", "cutting edge", "innovative" and "thought
leadership" are so overused that when they are appropriate, their value is
diminished.  So we have to come up with new words!

Exquisite
Magnificent
Prophetic
Bold
Original

The Center for Real Estate and its graduates are all of these things and
your response to the call for support has been outstanding!  I will provide
updates throughout the day, but I thought I would provide a preliminary
update, a preliminary word or two of "thanks", and a preliminary list of
adjectives that describe you and your support of the Center.  Continue to

Listed below is our current tally of gifts.  It is changing moment by
moment.  We are looking to hit an interim goal of $500,000 with
participation from all of the classes.  We want the people who are reaching
out to you to lead the way with their gifts so we are listing the names of
the members of the Class Teams and whether or not they have given.  So far,
we have participation from most of the classes.

We have the following notables:

  a.. Class of 1986 -- A classmate has offered to match the contributions of
fellow classmates
  b.. Class of 1989 -- The most $10,000 donations
  c.. Class of 1989 -- Largest dollar amount raised
  d.. Class of 1997 -- Largest number of donors and first to submit forms
  e.. Classes of  1998, 1999, & 2001 -- Greatest percentage increase in a
24-hour period
  f.. Class of 2001 -- A classmate has offered to match the contributions of
fellow classmates
  g.. Class of 2002 -- First to reach and surpass their goal!!!! Yeah Class
of 2002.
  h.. Class of 2003 -- All first time donors and largest % participation

NewVisions Countdown: The Final Day
$386,235 raised; $900,000 is the goal but we are targeting
$500,000 as an Interim Goal with Participation by All Classes
