We are going into Overtime and into Overdrive!
Revised Campaign Deadline: Friday, July 2, 2004
Guess what? We raised over $500,000 in essentially 10 days. I believe we
have a good shot at the remaining $400,000. To hit our goal of $900,000
will require that all of the classes hit their goals. To date, two of the
19 classes have not only hit, but exceeded, their goal and did it without
the full participation of their classmates.
We have matching gift challenges issued by the classes of 1986, 1989, and
2001. Meet the challenge of the gift!
Our interim goal of $500,000 was exceeded and we need to do it one more
time. We invite you to make our overtime goals:
a.. All classes to hit their goals
b.. Two-thirds or more class members to contribute.
If the 15th Anniversary is any guide, we can do better. We can do more, and
the funds are needed now more than ever before. In 1999 67% of the alumni
participated in the fundraising effort and raised over $750,000. If we
meet -- or exceed -- this performance, it will be another stunning
achievement by the graduates of the MIT Center for Real Estate. I believe
it can be done!!!
I ask those who have already given to stretch a little further, encourage
your fellow classmates to join the campaign, and let your team leader know
who you are and who you are willing to call as we work to bring this
campaign to a successful close on July 2nd.
There is so much that is good that is happening at the Center and you, as
our graduates and as the industry we serve, are at the heart of it. Go to
our Home Page (web.mit.edu/cre) and sign on to the MIT Real Estate Exchange
if you have not already done so; go to our Home Page (web.mit.edu/cre) and
take a look at the Thesis Day Webcast; and go to our Home Page
(web.mit.edu/cre) and sign up for one of our new Professional Development
Courses -- Entrepreneurship, Affordable Housing, or Green Development.
There is a tremendous amount going on. Be a part of it!
