Greetings!

The Center for Real Estate has been the hub of an incredible amount of
activity. See for yourself:

REAL ESTATE AND THE POLITICAL PROCESS
(http://web.mit.edu/CRE/RE%20and%20the%20Pol%20Process.pdf)

On September 30th, The Honorable Thomas M. Menino, the Mayor of Boston,
addressed a capacity audience in the Gerald Blakeley lecture hall. Mayor
Menino talked about the role of real estate in Boston's neighborhoods and in
the growth of the city. The Mayor's presentation was followed by a panel
discussion. For more information about "Real Estate and the Political
Process" check on the link above.

GRADUATION SPEAKER LORENZ REIBLING, CHAIRMAN TAURUS INVESTMENT HOLDING
Encourages the Class of 2003 to think beyond the box
(http://web.mit.edu/CRE/Reibling%20speech.final.pdf)

As the Class of 2003 moved towards becoming a part of the alumni/ae of the
Center for Real Estate, they were reminded of the role of real estate and
courageous thinkers. During his graduation speech, Lorenz Reibling talked
about the falling of the Berlin Wall, the willingness to think beyond the
box, and the need to "maximize intellectual capital beyond barriers and
walls". It was an appropriate speech for the students, for the Center, and
for the alums. The full text is on our web site.

FALL RECRUITMENT

The Center's recruitment efforts move into high gear during the Fall. We
are asking you to e-mail us the contact information for two people that you
think would be good candidates for the program. E-mails should be directed
to me (marionoc at mit.edu), Maria Vieira (mvieira at mit.edu), or Stephanie
Bright (sbright at mit.edu). We will send each nominee information about the
program and will indicate that you have recommended them. It is quite
flattering to the nominees, extremely helpful to the Center, and a nice way
to provide career development information to people that you know and may be
mentoring.
