Menino, the Mayor of Boston, addressed a capacity audience in the Gerald Blakeley lecture hall. Mayor Menino talked about the role of real estate in Boston's neighborhoods and in the growth of the city. The Mayor's presentation was followed by a panel discussion. GRADUATION SPEAKER LORENZ REIBLING, CHAIRMAN TAURUS INVESTMENT HOLDING Encourages the Class of 2003 to think beyond the box (http://web.mit.edu/CRE/Reibling%20speech.final.pdf) As the Class of 2003 moved towards becoming a part of the alumni/ae of the Center for Real Estate, they were reminded of the role of real estate and courageous thinkers. During his graduation speech, Lorenz Reibling talked about the falling of the Berlin Wall, the willingness to think beyond the box, and the need to "maximize intellectual capital beyond barriers and walls". It was an appropriate speech for the students, for the Center, and for the alums. The full text is on our web site.
