Crime Alert to the MIT Community
Issued: August 7, 2007
The MIT Police responded to a breaking and entering at 99 Bay State Rd. on
August 8, 2007 at approximately 4:40 a.m.
SUSPECT:
Approximately mid to late 20’s, light skin black male, medium height,
slight build, short hair, wearing a dark green t-shirt.
REPORTED INCIDENT:
Victim was awakened by a male suspect standing over her bed. Victim
yelled for the subject to get out while pointing at her door. Suspect
left her room and exited the building – believed to have left out a
second floor window. Investigation revealed that suspect had enter the
residence through that same second floor window. Also, previously
unreported breaks were reported to investigators.
SUGGESTIONS:
All members of the MIT community are asked to be alert and take
precautions. To minimize the opportunity for such incidents, the MIT
Police Department reminds community members to be vigilant about
building security, particularly residence areas.
Open or unlocked doors or windows provide easy access for the criminal
element.
Anyone on campus should call the MIT Police Department at 617-253-1212,
utilize a blue light emergency telephone, or dial 100 from an Institute
telephone if they feel they are in danger at any time.
Please forward this notice to your colleagues and post it on appropriate
bulletin boards in your area. If you have any information that might be

*_Massachusetts_**_ State Police and Boston Police Link Three Sexual
Assaults in Boston_*

The Massachusetts State Police working in conjunction with the Boston
Police Department are attempting to identify a subject involved in 3
sexual assaults. The State Police Crime Lab has linked one subject
through the use of forensic science to three sexual assaults that
occurred over the past year. The public’s assistance is requested in
locating the subject.
*The first/ /incident *investigated by the Boston Police Department
occurred in July 2006 in the area of Moakley Park in South Boston.
*The second incident *investigated by the State Police occurred on June
16, 2007 at approximately 11:00 p.m. when an adult female who was
jogging at the Charles River Esplanade on a path located near the Mass
Avenue Bridge was sexually assaulted.
*The third incident *investigated by the State Police occurred on July
29, 2007 at approximately 4:00 a.m. when an adult female was abducted at
knifepoint on Beacon Street in Boston and forced to walk to the
Esplanade where she was sexually assaulted and subsequently robbed.
The suspect is described as a black male, 28-32 years old, 5’8”-5’10”,/
/approximately 200 lbs, with a heavy build and a shaved head.
