I’m writing today to ask for your help to encourage February graduates in your department to update their mailing address for paper diplomas, and opt-in to participate in MIT’s digital diploma program.

Paper diplomas:
All MIT graduates receive a traditional paper diploma<https://registrar.mit.edu/transcripts-records/diplomas/paper-diplomas>. The diplomas are shipped, and graduates have until Monday, February 23 to update their mailing address athttps://degreeapp.mit.edu<https://degreeapp.mit.edu/>. Degree recipients will receive an email confirmation when their paper diploma has shipped.

Digital Diplomas:
While everyone receives a paper diploma, students must opt in and take action to receive their digital diploma. It’s a simple process. All they need to do is download the Blockcerts Wallet app and add MIT as an issuer using a link in the email invitation they receive from the Registrar’s Office. More details and instructions<https://registrar.mit.edu/transcripts-records/digital-diplomas> are available on our website.

Completing the steps before the degree award date ensures that students will receive their digital diploma as soon as it is available. Digital diplomas will be issued on Monday, February 23, again on Wednesday, February 25, and on the first of the month thereafter.

We sent an invitation to all February degree candidates last Wednesday. Those who have not yet opted in will receive it again tomorrow, Wednesday, February 18. Anyone who previously received a digital diploma from MIT does not need to opt in again and will automatically be included in the February 2026 issuance.
