Good Morning Biology Community,
The Biology Community Council<https://biology.mit.edu/about/community/> is seeking to bring on new members to the council for the ’25-‘26 academic year which runs from July 2025 to July 2026. This is a great opportunity to engage in community in the department and to encourage programs and policies you are interested in and that would benefit the community. Examples of programs that the council work on are community building events, mentoring programs, policy changes and more. Please encourage members of the Biology community to apply!
The council is looking for new members from the following groups:
1 faculty member
1-2 staff members
1-2 post docs
2-3 graduate students
2 undergraduate students
Council members are expected to serve for a minimum of one academic year. Time commitment expected to serve on the council is about 1 hour of meetings each month and 2-4 hours of monthly collaborative work beyond that and is very flexible depending on individual schedules. Please fill out this short form <https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeEOO7yipucm7XiG5sppLZ4YzHS_yuL2XPQs0IB58D50aVU9w/viewform?usp=header> to express interest in the Biology Community Council by Wednesday, June 25th.
