Dear Biology Community Members,
It is with deep sadness that I write to let you know we have just been informed that Tony Sinskey has passed away. Tony was a dearly loved and respected colleague, teacher, mentor, and friend.
We have very little information to share at this time, but we are in contact with Tony’s son. I will provide more information as we know it, including ways you can show support for the family. Next week there will be broader notification of the MIT community by the President’s Office, and in due course, an obituary.
Everyone will process this news in their own way. We are in touch with Tony’s lab members and will take special care to provide support to those most affected by his loss. You are encouraged to call on any of the resources below my signature for help for yourself or others.
We will find ways to remember and honor Tony in the days and weeks ahead. For now, I urge you to reach out, support one another, and share your stories and memories of Tony as we mourn the sudden loss of our colleague and friend.
With sadness and sympathy,
Amy
