Hello everyone,
The MIT Quality of Life survey will close this weekend. As I described on 2/21 (see below), this survey is valuable and informs decision making.
Our department response rate is currently 41%.
If you have a competitive spirit, note that we are lagging BCS, Picower, BE, ChemE, and math (to name a few). We are a point behind the MIT average. Let’s beat the MIT average (at least)!
If you don’t have a competitive spirit, just note that 59% of our community are currently not represented by the survey, which is a lost opportunity.
If you have not yet filled out the QoL survey, please take a few minutes to share your views. You can use this link<https://mitresearch.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_8IL7Hukfaz4suoe> to get access.
Thanks very much,
Amy

Subject: We need your input! 2024 Quality of Life Survey
Dear MIT Biology Community,
The MIT Quality of Life Survey is run every two years and provides a valuable snapshot of student, staff, postdoc, and faculty life and experiences on campus. I take the results for our department seriously, and the input we receive guides decisions and helps shape priorities at the department, school, and university levels.
The QoL survey will be most valuable if we achieve a very high rate of participation. The data will not be fully representative if YOU do not reply.
Please take a few minutes to follow the personal link you were sent on February 15 (subject: “2024 MIT Quality of Life Survey”) and enter your thoughtful, honest responses. MIT leaders, including me, will spend considerable time studying, reflecting on, and acting on these data. I hope you will take the time to make your opinion count, and I hope many of the 760 prizes being awarded to participants will go to members of our department!
You can read QoL Survey FAQs here<https://ir.mit.edu/2024-quality-of-life-survey-faqs/>.
Best regards,
Amy
