Dear Colleagues,

In honor of Black History month, we are excited to have Dr. Menah Pratt present a talk entitled, “Black History: Civil Rights and Social Justice”, which will focus on the history and experience of African Americans and race, gender and class in America.

The Seminar will be held virtually<https://us06web.zoom.us/j/82248984084?pwd=Qk9YaU8zak1XTE1vTzh2MGswNWdPQT09> on Wednesday, February 8th from 2 – 3 PM (Zoom details below).

Dr. Pratt serves as the Vice President for Strategic Affairs and Diversity at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, (Virginia Tech), where she is also a Professor of Education. At Virginia Tech, she oversees the Office for Inclusion and Diversity, the Office for Strategic Affairs, and the Council on Virginia Tech History. She was selected as the 2021 Inclusive Excellence Individual Leadership Award recipient by the National Association of Diversity Officers in Higher Education. In addition, she is the founder of the Faculty Women of Color in the Academy National Conference and the Black College Institute at Virginia Tech.
