How can anything live forever? Running this fall, course 7.344 Mortal Beings, Immortal Cells: Cellular Immortality in Normal Biology and Human Disease will explore how cellular life has continued to propagate for billions of years without any sign of cellular senescence.

This paper reading course will explore topics in genomic protection, cellular selection, telomeric restoration, phase separated condensates, germline epigenesis, germline regeneration, epigenetic suppression, in vitro gametogenesis, stem cell senescence, and tumorigenesis.

The class will include a field trip to the Harvard Stem Cell Institute and a live Q+A with the CEO of Conception Bio.

The first session will be held on Thursday, September 7th, from 10am-12pm in room 68-150. Final class time will be determine by student availability.
