I hope this email finds you well! I am writing to you in the hopes that your office will help spread the word about two employment opportunities for students in the Admissions Office this summer. We are inviting students to apply for either Full-Time or Part-Time Tour Guide positions and we’d love to have Course 7 students represented on staff.

Admissions Tour Guides are enthusiastic students who share their experiences on everything from academics to campus-life and provide a personal connection to the Institute for our on-campus visitors. Our students play a large role in helping prospective students decide if MIT is the right place for them and teaching all visitors about MIT history and our community today.

The Admissions Office is requesting your help in spreading the word about these summer positions to the students in your program by including our application link in upcoming updates and newsletters, on your Facebook page, on your website, or by referring a student directly. This is a great opportunity to showcase your programs and opportunities to prospective students and their families on what is generally their first visit to campus!

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis with interviews beginning next week.  I have included a succinct description of the positions with deadlines below, which we would ask you to share in whatever method you prefer!

Every Tour Guide will share their MIT story with thousands of visitors this summer, and gain experience in a fun office environment!

The Details

  *   The full-time position commitment is Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. from Tuesday, May 31st until Friday, September 2nd.
  *   Full-time students will be compensated $19/hour and will be provided 6 unpaid vacation days.
  *   Part-time students will be compensated starting at $16/hour

  *   Interviews will begin on May 9th.
