Subject: CDC Public Health Associate Program application

Hello,
My name is Ally and I graduated from MIT in 2020 with a degree in biology. Since then, I've been working for the CDC as part of the Public Health Associate Program (PHAP), a competitive two-year, paid training program for recent college graduates who are interested in a career in public health.

PHAP will be accepting applications for new associates soon. Could you please share the information below with undergraduates who may be interested in applying? I am also happy to chat with any students who have questions about the application or my experience in the program.

CDC’s Public Health Associate Program (PHAP) is seeking exceptional recent college graduates interested in public health careers. The 2022 associate application period is January 18–25.

PHAP associates receive numerous benefits, including—

  * Salary and benefits of a term-limited, Title 5 employee
  * Recognition as employees of the nation’s leading public health agency
  * Formal training in key public health competency areas, including seminars, workshops, web-based courses, and conferences to enhance basic public health program skills
  * Career positions at CDC or other public health organizations for qualified associates
Prospective associates can learn more about the PHAP application process, explore PHAP’s BEST FIT model<https://www.cdc.gov/phap/become_associate/best-fit.html?s_cid=CSTLTS_PHAP_Email_076>, find answers to frequently asked questions, and learn about associate experiences by visiting the Become an Associate<https://www.cdc.gov/phap/become_associate/opportunity.html?s_cid=CSTLTS_PHAP_Email_077> section of the PHAP website. Applicants must apply through the federal hiring website: www.usajobs.gov<http://www.usajobs.gov>. For more information about PHAP or the application process, email phap at cdc.gov<mailto:phap at cdc.gov> or call 404-498-0030.

Thank you!
Ally Huske
