Interested in data-driven policy? Want to work in teams on pressing issues posed by partner organizations? Apply to the MIT Policy Hackathon 2021: Connecting through Challenges!<http://mitpolicyhackathon.org/>

The hackathon is convened by MIT’s Technology & Policy Program and the Institute for Data, Systems, & Society. Given the breadth of challenges, we welcome a wide range of data and policy backgrounds -- as with our 150 hackers from more than 30 countries in last year's event<https://tpp.mit.edu/news/data-for-good/>. This year’s challenge areas range from COVID-19 to internet policy to environmental justice and more.

When: October 22-24, 2021 (Friday evening through Sunday afternoon).

Where: Hybrid format. As in 2020, we welcome participants from around the globe and will live-stream all events to equalize opportunities. Those on MIT COVID-Pass may conduct certain team activities in person. As health and safety is our top priority, this is subject to change depending on public and MIT health guidelines.

How: Visit mitpolicyhackathon.org<http://mitpolicyhackathon.org/> and fill out the brief application. The deadline is October 1st. Forms will continue to be accepted after the deadline on a rolling basis.

Why: Prizes, publication or partnership opportunities, and a weekend full of memories. See www.mitpolicyhackathon.org/faq<http://www.mitpolicyhackathon.org/faq> for more information, or contact us at policyhackathon at mit.edu<mailto:policyhackathon at mit.edu>.
