Subject: Lab Tech Position at Harvard Medical School
The Frank Slack Lab of Harvard Medical School is actively looking to recruit Research Assistants. Would you kindly forward this email to your undergraduate community?
Best,
Anan Quan
Good Afternoon,
I graduated last year from MIT and currently work in the lab of Dr. Frank Slack at Harvard Medical School/Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, and we are looking to hire a research technician starting in June/July. The lab is a molecular biology research lab focused on studying non-coding RNAs in development, aging, and cancer, using model systems as diverse as C. elegans, mammalian tissue culture, and mice.
The technician's role will include conducting experiments, both as assistance to other lab members as well as on their own project if they choose, as well as some administrative duties such as lab ordering, equipment maintenance, and serving as lab safety officer. The technician will have the opportunity to work with mice in helping manage our mouse colony. Additionally, the detection core of our RNA medicine facility.
This is a great opportunity for anyone looking for openings in life science research, especially as a 1-3 -year position before med school, grad school, or other career paths. Frank is a great PI who is simultaneously prestigious and laid back; the lab is a fun, social environment; and being surrounded by the Harvard scientific community is incredibly enriching (and great for networking).
Anyone interested can reach out to Anan Quan at aquan at bidmc.harvard.edu for more information on the lab and application process.
Thank you!
