Subject: Job opportunity at CDC for recent graduates
Hello,
I hope you're well. My name is Ally and I graduated from Course 7 this past May. I currently work for the CDC in the Public Health Associates Program (PHAP), a two-year paid training program for recent graduates with an interest in public health. Associates are employed by the CDC and work all around the US at state and local health departments, CDC quarantine stations, non-profits, and universities.
The initial application period for the new class of PHAP associates will take place this month, January 20-27. I'd appreciate it if you could share this opportunity with graduating seniors! More information about the program can be found at cdc.gov/phap/index.html<http://cdc.gov/phap/index.html>. Applicants can apply at usajobs.gov<http://usajobs.gov>.
I've been working as an associate since October at the Minnesota Department of Health on the COVID-19 response. It's been an incredible experience to be able to learn about public health firsthand by contributing to the pandemic response. Questions about the program can be directed to phap at cdc.gov or (404) 498-0030. I'd also be happy to talk about my own experience in the program and can be reached at achuske at alum.mit.edu.
Best,
Ally Huske
