Dear department members,

Please join me in congratulating Matt Vander Heiden on promotion to Full Professor, and Sebastian Lourido on promotion to Associate Professor (without tenure), both effective July 1!

Matt joined the department in 2010. His lab has made important contributions to our understanding of the role of metabolism in cancer. The promotion recognizes Matt's outstanding research contributions, teaching, mentorship, and service.

Sebastian joined our faculty and became a Member of the Whitehead Institute in 2017. His group studies the human parasite Toxoplasm gondii, and has identified genes and pathways involved in the complex lifecycle of this organism.

Congratulations to both Matt and Sebastian!
