Hello
Hope you’re having a great summer! My name is Kevin, and I am one of the presidents of the MIT Engineering Innovation Group (EIG) this year along with Mohamed. We are reaching out to you because we are a new ASA-approved club looking to bridge the gap between engineering and entrepreneurship. Right now, we have more than 100 students ranging from sophomores to graduate students interested in our group (we have yet to recruit incoming first-years).
Our group’s mission is to form cross-disciplinary student teams around an idea/problem that interests them. The projects will follow a structured semester long cycle which aims at ensuring a deliverable is completed by the end.
We are currently at the stage of sourcing potential projects for students to form teams around. We plan for projects to come from two sources: students themselves and mentors. We are searching for potential mentors to join our initiative, and was wondering if you could share this email with professors/staff in your department! We have an FAQ<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1x2_MeRJGfo0cvY9rvsqovnLyQGfjY78vaZ9-Q8lBga8/edit?usp=sharing> on what a mentor is and what they can do as well as an interest form here<https://forms.gle/bSsnwwi4cTpQ7Vje9> (our ML-Powered Analytics team predicts that it’ll take you <40 seconds to fill!).
If you know other people who might be interested in this, then please feel free to send them along their way!
Wishing you a great week,
Kevin
