Our speakers will be sharing information and resources for civic engagement. Whether you’re a Massachusetts voter, out-of-state voter, or looking for other ways to support safe and secure elections, there will be something in this session for you.

About our speakers:
Danny Becker is the Program Coordinator for the PKG center, where he manages student engagement, outreach, and recruitment for the PKG Center’s programming. His role includes establishing and further developing partnerships with a range of MIT partners, departments, and student communities, as well as civic engagement opportunities for students!

Taylor Sorenson is an executive member of MITvote, a non-partisan group of students actively working to increase voter turnout and promote civic engagement at MIT. MITvote’s mission is to make voting as accessible as possible to everyone and encourage civic participation on MIT's campus.

Yordanos Eyoel is a Partner at New Profit<https://www.newprofit.org/>, a venture philanthropy fund, and the Founder of the organization’s Civic Lab<https://www.newprofit.org/go/announcing-new-civic-lab-to-support-democracy-entrepreneurs/>, an initiative to invest in democracy entrepreneurs leading innovative solutions to build civic trust and an inclusive democracy in America. Yordanos co-founded several organizations including the Sister March Network that mobilized millions of people globally for the 2017 Women’s March, the national organization March ON<https://www.wearemarchon.org/>, and March Forward Massachusetts. Yordanos also gave the 2019 Tedx talk, “Why voting isn’t Enough<https://tedxbeaconstreet.com/videos/why-voting-isnt-enough/>” to address the need for continued investment in our democracy to unlock our civic power and create a 21st century civil society.

In addition, we would like to thank everyone that attended our last seminar about first generation students and provide a set of educational resources to keep the conversations going. You can find them attached to this email.
