Hello,

The Stanford Cardiovascular Institute has an exciting opportunity for your students interested in research in the fields of cardiovascular or pulmonary science. We would appreciate your help in informing your students and contacts of this opportunity. Attached is a flyer we would love for you to disseminate, and below is a brief description. For any questions, please feel free to contact cvi_outreach at stanford.edu<mailto:cvi_outreach at stanford.edu>.

The Stanford Cardiovascular Institute (CVI) is offering a 10-week Summer Research Program in Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Medicine for Undergraduate students. Summer research students will have the opportunity to work on an independent research project in the labs of Stanford faculty. No prior research experience is required.

Stanford CVI’s Summer Undergraduate Research Program will run for 10 weeks between June and August 2020, with the exact dates yet to be determined. Please check our website<https://med.stanford.edu/cvi/education/aha-cvi-undergraduate-summer-research-program.html> for updates. Students are expected to devote 40 hours/week to research and career development activities during the course of this program. Each student will receive a set stipend of $6,000 or $8,000, depending on whether the program is virtual or in-person. In addition to research in your faculty mentor’s lab, you will have the opportunity to meet scientists and health professionals in other industries, learn about different career paths, and to present your work to your peers and the Stanford cardiovascular and pulmonary science community. For more information and to view previous awardees and mentors, please visit our program's website<https://med.stanford.edu/cvi/education/aha-cvi-undergraduate-summer-research-program.html>.
