Dear student,

I am writing to inform you of the pre-registration timeline for Fall 2020 and to call your attention to key dates on the Academic Calendar<https://registrar.mit.edu/calendar>. All continuing students — including graduate students taking thesis or research credit — are required to pre-register<https://student.mit.edu/> for the fall term to maintain their student status. Dates, deadlines, and details are below.

When reviewing the fall Subject Listing & Schedule, please make note of the following:

  * Subjects with an in-person component will list a classroom.
  * Virtual subjects and sections will be listed as virtual.
  * For subjects that are being held on campus, but in-person attendance is not required, the description will contain a note to that effect.

We also encourage you to check the Subject Listing & Schedule periodically, as offerings will continue to evolve over the next few weeks.

If you have any questions, please contact the Registrar’s Office.<mailto:records at mit.edu>

Thank you.

Pre-registration for Fall 2020

  * The initial fall Subject Listing & Schedule<http://student.mit.edu/catalog/index.cgi> will be posted on Friday, July 17.
  * Pre-registration<https://student.mit.edu/> for the fall term opens at 9 AM on Monday, July 20.
  * You can build a list of classes by selecting the leaf icon that appears in the Subject Listing & Schedule. This will populate the Selection page where you can automatically submit by clicking the button “Pre-register these classes.” You may also type your subject numbers directly into the subject selection grid on WebSIS.
