---------------------------------------------------------
In light of the recent circumstances and changes to MIT this coming fall, the 6.0001 staff has an important update to the 6.0001 ASE.
1. The ASE will no longer be held in September. It will be held on July 29, to alleviate some stress that will be inevitable with the start of school and course selection.
2. We will offer a 2-hour exam in a 6-hour time window, from 9am to 3pm Boston time. You'll start within that time window but the exam will lock out in 2 hours from your start or at 3pm, whichever comes first.
3. The format of the ASE will be online on MITx, administered using a virtual proctoring service. Details on how to perform onboarding with the proctoring service prior to taking the exam will be sent out via our ASE site as MITx sets that up.
4. During the exam, you will be only allowed to have the MITx page open. No notes, books, scrap paper, or webpages. You will be locked out of all windows except for the MITx window so all code writing and debugging will be done as you code.
Email 6.0001-ase at mit.edu<mailto:6.0001-ase at mit.edu> with any questions.
Join our MITx site to get updates as more information regarding the proctoring service is available:https://lms.mitx.mit.edu/courses/course-v1:MITx+6.0001.ASEr+Exam/about
