I work with MIT’s Project Manus group. Along with the Martin Trust Center, we are once again offering “Introduction to Making”, a course open to both undergraduates and graduates. We’d like to get the word out to as many students as possible that the class is running this spring with a deadline to apply of January 1st. Would you be so kind as to include the following blurb in upcoming communications to your students?

Thanks so much for your help.

Best,
Laura

"Introduction to Making" (15.351/2.351)<https://entrepreneurship.mit.edu/intro-to-making/> is a highly immersive, hands-on introductory course for undergraduate and graduate students in any course of study. If you are curious about how tomake physical things, make them work and integrate them with electronics/software, this class is for you. The course will be offered fully remotely in Spring ‘21 and therefore will be modified slightly from its usual format to provide the best experience possible. The class uses lectures when necessary/best, but we also integrate fun activities that require using knowledge and skill, i.e. Mens et Manus!

Students will gain knowledge of common design and fabrication techniques and skill in using them - Computer Aided Design (CAD), rapid prototyping techniques, electronics, Arduino programming and more. You will then use this knowledge/skill in work on an individual design and build project that leads up to "Demo Day” where you will show off your prototype along with the rest of the class.

Entry into the class is by application only. Please fill out the application on our website<https://entrepreneurship.mit.edu/intro-to-making/> by January 1st if you’d like to take the class. You will hear from us about your application status shortly after the application closes.
