Hi All,
Welcome back to a new school year! We hope that everyone is settling in and enjoying their classes. We have a few new things that we are trying out, and some annual events that we hope you can come to! Here is a general list of events and resources that we have right now, but as always feel free to reach out to bexec at mit.edu<mailto:bexec at mit.edu> or fill out the suggestion form: https://forms.gle/wrJMCDA5vEN2hyPN8.
Become part of BEXEC: Do these events seem cool? Would you like to be part of planning and organizing events for your course 7 friends. Come join BEXEC! apply here: https://forms.gle/ShMB7rN7RRLHt4zx6
Piazza: There is a new course 7 (that includes 6-7, 5-7) piazza. This is a place to ask questions to fellow students/instructors about anything related to being course 7, from what classes people recommend to UROPs. If you don’t have any questions, feel free to pop on and answer fellow students questions. The sign-up link is here: http://piazza.com/mit/other/7acad?token=6cyXbvKaNqs.
Study Breaks: The semester gets busy fast, and study breaks are a great time to reset, relax and enjoy some great food with your peers: We hold these throughout the semester but the next one up is this Wednesday 9/25 3-4 in room 4-149. We have lots of pie, and would love to see you there.
Faculty dinners: Another opportunity to eat good food, take a break and learn about some amazing research on campus from professors themselves. We hold monthly faculty dinner, so be on the lookout for these opportunities, and if you have a professor that you would like to invite, definitely fill out the suggestions form.
Sweatshirts: Last year we sold MIT bio sweatshirts, and we have a few left and are offering these for 21$. They can be tried on/bought in the bio education office located in 68-120. We currently only have large/extra large. Please look out for a new order form. We also want to hear what you want for swag this year.
Newsletters: We have a monthly newsletter that highlights all the cool events specifically for undergrads and also has reminders of special talks and opportunities available to the entire bio department.
