Dear Colleague:
I write to ask for your help in identifying qualified students in your institute who would be interested in applying to the PhD Program in Biological Sciences in Public Health (BPH<https://harvard.us11.list-manage.com/track/click?u=509400ac97b08fbd1f2b63802&id=4cae946b87&e=0028489168>) at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. The BPH program trains students in individual fields of biological research with a focus on understanding, preventing and treating diseases<https://harvard.us11.list-manage.com/track/click?u=509400ac97b08fbd1f2b63802&id=c21b220e1f&e=0028489168> affecting large populations.
Major Areas of Investigation include:
* The Metabolic Basis of Health and Disease
* Immunology and Infectious Diseases
* Gene-Environment Interactions
* Inflammation and Stress Responses
All of these areas are studied with an emphasis on biochemical, cell biological and genetic approaches to delineating disease mechanisms. Moreover, students obtain a broad interdisciplinary knowledge of both mechanistic and quantitative approaches to biomedical research.
All students admitted into this training program are provided full tuition, health insurance and stipend support. Our graduates hold distinguished positions in academia, industry, government, and other arenas of life science research, consulting, communications and policy. The application deadline for the 2020-21 Academic Year is December 1, 2019. NOTE: The BPH program does not require or consider the GRE as part of its application process. In addition, applicants who are non-native English speakers and who received their undergraduate degree from an academic institution where English is not the primary language of instruction now have the option to submit scores for the International English Language Testing System - Academic test (IELTS) as proof of English proficiency.
