Hello!

I'm writing to ask if you would help us spread the word about volunteering to help young students in the Cambridge Community, 1.5 hours a week

I am attaching a flyer about our most current and urgent openings, which are for tutors for kids in Grades 6, 7, and 8 in a school in East Cambridge. These students are singled out by teachers for special help.

They and their parents have an agreement for regular weekly attendance and expectations. The quiet, supportive "Learning Center' that we run on site at the school, for which we provide supervision and structure for the volunteer/student pairs, is held on Wednesdays from 3:00 to 4:15 starting on December 4. .The commitment for volunteers lasts until May 6.

At this school for which we have the most urgent need, the percentage of students who receive free or reduced-price lunch is 59%, one of the highest proportions of all the public schools in the district.

This tutoring role is an excellent way to have a direct impact in the community, and is ten minutes from the Harvard campus via the #69 bus.
