Improv Workshop Series:
Networking Skills: How to Connect & Genuinely Network

Does networking feel awkward? Do you hate small talk? Do you feel like networking is inauthentic? Well, this workshop is for you. Learn how to find your own networking voice and connect with others in an authentic way. Develop strategies to overcome the doubts that you have about networking. We'll be using improv comedy activities in a fun and supportive environment to warm up and connect with others and then apply those simulations to tangible takeaways to help you connect with others in various networking settings. No prior acting experience is needed.

The workshop will be led by Jake Livengood, PhD, an introvert who has overcome the odds to become good at networking himself. He's also the Senior Assistant Director of Graduate Student Career Services at MIT and has done more than 50 of these workshops with more than 700 attendees in the past three years. These efforts led to him receiving an MIT Infinite Mile Award for Innovation and Creativity.

All CAPD events are open to MIT undergraduates, graduate students, postdocs, and alumni.
