Subject: Advisory: Intense Snow Squalls 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
A brief but intense snow squall is expected to move through Cambridge between 5:30 and 7:00 p.m. Near whiteout conditions are expected, followed by a flash freeze. Please use extreme caution if commuting during this time.
Supervisors are asked for flexibility in accommodating employee requests for early departures, and the Excused Lateness Policy (https://policies.mit.edu/employment-policy-manual/50-pay-policies/57-lateness#5.7.2) is in effect for employees arriving for evening shifts between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. tonight.
As always, please monitor the MIT Emergency Information website (emergency.mit.net<http://emergency.mit.net/>), social media (@MITPrepared<https://twitter.com/mitprepared>), or the Emergency Line (617-253-7669 or 617-253-SNOW) for information regarding MIT's operational status.
