My name is Jenna Himawan, and I’m a co-director for Spark 2019. Spark is a program in which middle schoolers come to MIT for a weekend to take fun classes, and we would greatly appreciate it if you could forward the email below to the students in your departments who might be interested in this very fun teaching opportunity!

Thank you,
Jenna

tl;dr: Teach anything to middle students on Mar 16 and 17! Spark<https://esp.mit.edu/2019spark> registration closes on February 5th.

Do you know cool, interesting things? Well, lots of middle schoolers are interested in learning those things! This spring, teach anything with the Educational Studies Program over just one weekend for Spark!

Spark<https://esp.mit.edu/whatisspark> is our weekend-long program for middle school students, held this year on the weekend of March 16–17. Classes can be any length from 1 to 3 hours and any size from a small workshop to a giant lecture. You can also teach interactive walk-in classes featuring fun activities where students can freely drop by. Spark attracts over a thousand middle schoolers! No prior teaching experience required. Past classes have included Combinatorial Game Theory, Journalism, Russian Music and literature, Woven Paper Fish, and Unicycling.

Free swag, as well as free food throughout the weekend, will be provided! Register at esp.mit.edu/19spark<http://esp.mit.edu/19spark> and email spark at mit.edu with any questions!

Sincerely,
Emily and Jenna
