My name is Jenna Himawan, and I’m a co-director for Spark 2019. Spark is a program in which middle schoolers come to MIT for a weekend to take fun classes. I sent you a couple of emails similar to this one a while ago, but we’ve extended the deadline! I would greatly appreciate it if you could forward along the email below, in order to remind the students in your departments who might be interested in this very fun teaching opportunity!

tl;dr: We've extended the deadline for Spark 2019 to February 10! Register to teach<http://esp.mit.edu/spark-extension> today!
Were you excited to teach for Spark, but afraid you missed the deadline? You have a chance to register before the extended deadline on Sunday, February 10.
No matter what your passion is—quantum mechanics, medieval literature, basketball analytics, or the science of cooking—Spark is the chance to share your interests with eager students. At Spark, your class can be anything from a huge lecture to a small discussion to a project-based workshop. You can also teach a more casual and interactive walk-in activity<https://esp.mit.edu/teach/Spark/walkinactivities.html>, like The Chinese Yo-Yo or Mutant Plushie Lab. For more inspiration, visit our random class generator<http://esp.mit.edu/random> or check out our very abridged list of what you can teach<https://esp.mit.edu/teach/logistics/whattoteach.html>.
Spark 2019 will be on the weekend of 3/16 - 3/17, and hours are flexible. Each class can be anywhere from 1 to 3 hours, and you're welcome to teach as many students and as many classes as you want. Register now to teach<http://esp.mit.edu/spark-extension>!
As always, feel free to email spark at mit.edu with any questions.
