The MIT Priscilla King Gray Public Service Center has an opportunity for MIT undergraduates to get a $10,000 fellowship for Summer 2019. This fellowship, called Davis Projects for Peace, encourages students to use their skill set to create a unique project that promotes peace or conflict resolution. "Peace" is broadly defined, so if students can make a case for why peace is part of their project, they'll qualify!

Could you please forward the following message to your undergraduates?

Thank you!

Best,

Davis Projects for Peace $10,000 Fellowship

Deadline to Apply: Monday, February 4 by noon

Davis Projects for Peace offers a $10,000 fellowship for an MIT undergraduate student* project that promotes peace.

The aim is to “help young people launch some immediate initiatives that could bring new thinking to the prospects for peace in the world.”

Think creatively, as this is a chance to formulate and test ideas for peace!

Peace building is widely interpreted and could include empathy workshops, promoting cross-cultural understanding, directly tackling local issues that divide communities, etc.

Past MIT projects include:
- Creating a solar energy grid in Puerto Rico after the 2017 hurricanes, in order to restore power and reduce crime.
- Creating an youth academy in Macedonia to teach students about leadership and interpersonal connections.
- Organizing a conference in Manila, Philippines to explore the role of telemedicine in extending access to health care to conflict-affected areas.

MIT will select several compelling proposals to send forward, and at least one is guaranteed to be funded!

Projects must be implemented during the summer of 2019.
